An inclusive community hub for all to enjoy
This project, designed by JPE Design Studio, won an AILA SA Australian Institute of Landscape Architects Award for Play Spaces.
Project Highlights
We installed the inclusive play areas, which have accessible surfaces, various sensory zones and careful consideration of heights and openings.
We almost had as much fun installing the colourful and fun animal sculptures as the children who now joyfully use them in their play! The sculptures include a giant yellow turtle which also serves as a climbing structure.
Our team also installed the plantings, fencing and large shelters and shade structures, all contributing to the welcoming and comfortable environment of the park.
Creating an Environment for Social Good
As GreenInc is a social enterprise committed to employing people of all abilities, this project has not only created a beautiful community space but also supported meaningful employment opportunities. By partnering with GreenInc to deliver this project, the Mount Barker District Council has contributed to leveling the field, for social inclusion.
